Craig Civic Center

Dedicated in 1979, the City of Kingwood’s Craig Civic Center was established thanks to generous contributions from The Estate of Charles and Edith Craig, the Preston County Commission and the Preston County Economic Development Administration, and the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department.

Since its inception, the Craig Civic Center has been home to many of our community’s most important happenings. The facility features an 11,000 sq ft gym/arena with two indoor basketball courts, bleachers, dressing/shower facilities, commercial kitchen, sound system, lobby with a full concession stand and a large parking lot.

It has been utilized for basketball leagues & tournaments, fundraiser bashes, indoor soccer & volleyball, roller skating parties, concerts, elections, conferences, training sessions, wedding receptions, pageants, birthday parties and after-school programs, to name a few.

Kingwood City Hall and the Kingwood Police Department are adjacent to the Craig Civic Center. The Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department’s Buckwheat Festival Field borders the property, as does the Kingwood Pool. Across the street from the Craig Civic Center, you will find the WV Northern Rail-Trail, a 10-mile scenic greenway running between Kingwood and Tunnelton – ideal for biking, walking and running with your friends, family & pets!

Keep an eye on the City of Kingwood’s calendar – new events are added regularly.

The Craig Civic Center is available for event rental. Contact Kingwood Parks and Recreation at 304-329-0856 for pricing and reservations.

Lifeguards are on duty during all operating hours. Concessions are available.
